Error-200428 occured at DAQmx Start Task vi

I am using the NI ELVIS board dedicated analog channels to acquire data and then store this data in a file loacation using the Write LabVIEW Measurements File express vi.

My program has been running perfectly until a power failure occured. Upon restarting the PC I ran my program only to be confronted by a pop up window showing a DAQmx error-200428 error. The possible cause for this error is stated as "Value passed to the Task/Channels In control is invalid, The value must refer to a valid task or valid virtual channel"

I have tried to test the inputs using the DAQ assistant and the MAX but to no avail. I checked whether the DAQ device is still visible on the configuration tree and i ran the self-test which was successfull. I have changed the ELVIS boards and the cable connecting it(board) to the DAQ card on the computer but I still can't get rid of the error-200428.

Please help

Are you wiring a task to the DAQmx function? If so, was this task created in MAX? If so, more than likely the task is corrupted. Have you tried running the task from MAX? You said you tried to test the inputs using the DAQ assistand and the MAX but "to no avail". What does this mean? Did you get an error? Was there no response? Did it freeze? Have you tried to create a new task in MAX?
