What kind of machine and what kind of software is running there? If it's an instrument with an ethernet connection, then you could possibly use VISA just like would for a GPIB instrument. If you're required to login via a telnet session, then the LabVIEW Internet Toolkit has a telnet client built from the TCP/IP functions.

I have a very similar problem.  I'm triying to make my own ethernet packets, I don't want to use any know protocol, I need to use my own protocol.  How can I build my own ethernet packets?  I'm using labview 6.i.  I solution with CVI is also wellcome.
