Eurothem PC3000

Hi. I am trying to get a Eurotherm PC3000 to communicate with LabView through serial. I am not sure what the protocol is for this pc3000. I am guessing EI-BISYNCH, since this machine has an old old OS2 computer that controls it. I tried iTools from Eurotherm, but I can't even detect the PC3000 in neither Modbus nor Bisych mode. I see many people here have experience with other Eurotherm temperature controllers. Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work?

Hi Angus L,
The Eurotherm 3000 Product Page provides links to user manuals that may be of use to you to find the command set the instrument takes.  Please check those out if you haven't already.  Also, our Instrument Driver Network has drivers for several Eurotherm Temperature Controllers.  Although the 3000 is not one of them, often similar instruments from the same manufactures have similar function calls.  Refer to the manual for the device and the Instrument driver network to see if this will work for you.  If these options don't work for you, you may be able to use some basic VISA functions in LabVIEW (or the Instrument I/O Assistant for LabVIEW 7.0 and higher) to communicate with the device via the serial port.  You will just need to know the instrument command set.  You may also want to contact Eurotherm to see if they have any other options for communication in LabVIEW.

I hope this helps!  Let me know if you have any questions!
