Even been any non-proprietary instrument calibration vi's?

Has anyone ever posted about using Labview to control the calibration of various lab instruments?  Not calibrating a NI card...not using Labview AS a standard--but just as a program and user interface along with interconnected device (UUT) & standard(s).

I have searched and found nothing.  Quite possible I didn't use the right filters or keywords...

I've never seen anything like that. You've got highly variable parameters such as the calibration standard, instruments to be calibrated, the parameters to be calibrated, etc.

All true and these are all covered by written procedures from various sources.  There just doesn't seem to be many choices for automated programs.  My company has a huge investment in Labview so I look there first for a solution.

If you know how to communicate with your instrments and standards, it should not be too difficult to gather the calibration measurements.  The actual calibration could need manual adjustments.  But anything that could be done with instrument commands could easily be automated using a simple State Machine.

I don't know how...I'm a user, not a programmer.

Personally, I would use TestStand for the built-in database and reporting tools. If you aren't able to do programming, then contract it out or buy one of the commercial packages are my recommendations.

Then would you consider hiring somebody to do it for you?  Send me a PM with your contact info and a good description of what you are trying to automate.  We can discuss any possible arrangements from there.

Then you are looking for a solution in the wrong place. LabVIEW is a programming language.  Have you looked in to Signal Express?

So you're saying this forum is only for programmers to learn from each other?  USERS don't come here looking for programs?

Correct.  If users need programs made for them, they should be hiring a consultant.
