Yes, it is a big project and parts of the filenames contain additional information useful for maintenance and my sanity. 😉

For those who don't know this, you can also use libraries to make file names shorter - the library name becomes part of the VI's full name in LV, but it's not part of the file name. This is useful mainly if you have a group of VIs which belong together.

I have download Long Path Tool and it is the best solution of your problem.

For the last couple of years, "Long Path Tool" has been spammed all over forums and groups.

Since this is not free software, I strongly suspect the above message is spam too, especially since this is a very generic answer and does not address the discussed peculiarities of the LabVIEW application builder, a scenario where I suspect that your software is not able to help anyway. It cannot be the "best solution", because it is not a solution.

Once you have bought LabVIEW prefessional and have sucessfully tested your tool with the LabVIEW application builder, let us know about the detailed results. Until then, everybody should stay far away from all this. Really!

Did I mention that I hate spammers?

Long Path Tool is very useful if you are having problems in deleting, unlocking, copying and even renaming files that are considered filename too long by your system.

It is not applicable to the topic of this discussion and thus spam. All yo do is search the internet for keywords, then plaster your links as cure-all.
