Graphics problem in Linux (Ubuntu)

I have this wierd problem in LabVIEW 8.6 on Ubuntu 9.04. Whenever I drag an icon on the block diagram or just hover the mouse over a wire or icon, the graphics get messed up, as is illustrated in this screen dump. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

First of all, Ubuntu is no supported OS for LabVIEW.

Beside of that, is the problem persistent with different screen resolutions?

Did you change the default fonts of LV?

hope this helps,

Yes, the problem persists with different screen resolutions. I did not change the default font, nor can I chance the font (the font drop down box is empty).

I am aware that Ubuntu is not supported, so I guess that I just have to live with the problem.

Thank you for your effords 🙂

Well, that problem is not present under ubuntu 8.10.

It shoul be related to graphic card or drivers and no to Labview.

In some days, I will install Mint 7 (based in ubuntu 9.04) and will check if things go right.

Cheers

In this posting it states a way to get rid of that problem.

just type in the terminal:

>
apt-get remove xserver-xorg-video-intel
> reboot

This will revert back to the 810 intel video driver that does not suffer the same problem.  However, I can't change my resolution to something better but that moot if I cant use labview.
