HOW CAN I HAVE DEFAULT VISA ADDRESS

HI ,

I have made a driver for arc sp-500  monochromator using  sp150 driver downloaded from ni instrument driver network.

the sp-150 were gpib based and my communication with instrument is using serial port. i have made exactly same vi as was sp150 ,using visa serial. this works absolutely fine.

the problem is that,in every vi i have to change arc address  to com 1 in the front panel. whenever i open vi  the address is GPIB 11::instr

,so each time i have to change it to com1 using dropdown icon of visa address in front panel.

how can i delete this  GPIB 11::instr and have com1 as default

Enter the proper adress in the front panel, the right-click the control > Data operation > Make current value default, and save the modified vi.

Alternatively, you can wire the corresponding input of the vi icon with a constant

[K C]

and you can use a alias name. The alias name can be defined in MAX.
