What kind of Report do you need? A LabVIEW RT Failure log or a Report of your Measurement Results?

Then it depends what kind of data it is and how you want to use this report later. Is it necessary to transfer the data to the Host and generate the report there, e.g. using the Report Generation Toolkit.

Or should it be a csv file located at the RT Target so that users can ftp it and analyze it individually?

I would suggest you to use TDMS, which is descriped here. This link also contains examples and a link to download the Excel Plugin for TDMS.

Frank,

With this last question, are you just looking for the best way to get the files from the Real-Time Target back to your host computer?

You can use FTP to do this in MAX: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000000YIEiCAO&l=en-US
