Are you sure you have LV 6.1 and the Vi to be loaded is from 6.0xxxx, and not the other way around?

Did you uninstall any previous versions of LAbVIEW before installing 6.1?

The error message seems to think you have not got 6.1 installed.

Hope this helps

Shane.

One more guess...

When I have more than one version of LV on my machine, VI's will open with the last version of LV I had open.

If you have LV 6.0 and LV 6.1 and open and close LV 6.0, attempts to open any other VI will occur using LV 6.0.

To avoid this issue, explicitly open LV 6.1 and THEN open the VI that is complaining.

I suppose there is also the possiblity that one of the sub-VI is saved in LV 6.1 and you are trying to open it in LV 6.0.

I am having similar issues with a *.exe from LV6.1.  I have the runtime engine for 6.1 and recently upgraded to 8.2 from 7.1.  I've never had 6.1 on my machine.  I am able to install this executible and runtime engine on a machine with 7.1 and can run the *.exe fine.

I get a load error and am not sure why.  I have had similar issues with old VI's that I have written in 7.1 executing on this machine w/ 8.2

any suggestions.

Hi stefamo,

It sounds like some component of your 6.1 exe got re-compiled up to 8.2 by accident.  Have you tried re-copying this exe onto your computer from a computer that it works on?  Have you tried doing a repair of the LabVIEW 6.1 runtime?  Also, for future reference, you might want to start a new post rather than posting to a thread that hasn't been active for a year and a half.  Not as many people read the older threads.

Justin,

I don't have application builder for 6.1, it's from a secondary party.  What I have done is installed this *.exe on another computer with LV7.1 and run the program.  There hasn't been an issue with the *.exe running on that PC.  However, I have made *.exe files with LV7.1 on my PC and tried to run them but get similar errors.  When I install them on other PC's w/out LV8.2 they run fine.  To me it seems like a set up issue with LV8.2

I will post a new thread next time.  I was looking for the most relevant and didn't notice the date.

Thanks,
