How do I edit or look at the block diagram on a control panel wihich has no menu bar? cntl-e and cntl-i do nothing.

I've inherited this application and I'm new to LV. I can get into the subVI's, but the top level vi is apparently configured to prevent editing. I've got the password for the project. Help!

When the vi was saved did the person saving it have the "remove diagram" option checked, if they did then you can not edit this VI. It specifically removes the block diagram to protect code. If this is the case you have to either get the original VI from who ever wrote it of rewrite the vi.

Another possibility is that the top level VI has been set to run when opened (as a top level VI), and you're looking at a running VI with customized appearance. This is what whoever inherits my applications will see.

Create a new VI; insert your top level VI as a subVI on the block diagram of the new VI; and then doubleclick the icon for the (formerly) top level VI. Hopefully, you'll see a menu bar and be able to use your password to access the block diagram.
