Hi apok,
do you think it's a good example to dequeue a queue in 2 independent loops?
This will just force questions on race conditions...
you could be writing it to two different inputs..(ie voltage supplies)?
Which is a good example of a race condition. It will be a race to determine which power supply gets the current value in the queue.

"thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
It because the shepard cares for his flock that he will wack them on the side to direct them away from the cliff they would otherwise wonder over.

I remember when I first read Ben's AE nugget. I was just a few years ago. I had just written a bunch of equipment drivers using the same concept. I knew the concept of a functional global, but not taken to the AE. In early code reviews, people were making fun of my architecture. I did some research and found the nugget. I showed the nugget to the reviewers and my point was proven.

You know, I have thought in the past about posting an idea to the idea exchange to call those things something else. I don't know if it is a good idea because there is so much already written about LabVIEW that refers to the little guys as variables. I kind of like I/O device. Maybe I/O register, I/O buffer..
Hey Ben, maybe you should post that idea along with your elegant explanation of these things that we call variables.

Re:You should post
You have my permision. Go fo it!
Re: never seen Ben
My management knows how many ideas I have to make LV better. As soon as the idea exchange was started they dictated that I can NOT post ideas to the IE. Since I post only with their permision I have to defer to the hand that feeds me.
Take care,
Ben

Well that's odd that you cannot post ideas. Anyway I just suggested it on the idea exchange.
