How do you change the background color of a text indicator?

Solved!
Go to solution

I have an ASCII/text indicator on my FP. The FP is using a .png file as the background, with a block diagram. The diagram is white background with black lines, figures, etc. I would like to be able to change the background color of the ASCII/text indicator to white, so it better matches the white background of the block diagram.

Running LabView 2009 SP1.

Thanks,

Have you tried the paint brush from the tools palette? 😉

Use the coloring tool on the Tools palette. If you don't see the Tools palette you can show it from the View -> Tools Palette. This is described in the LabVIEW Help in the Fundamentals -> Building the Front Panel -> How-T0 -> Configuring Front Panel Objects -> Coloring Objects and Backgrounds.

NOTE: If you selected the string control from the "System" palette then you will NOT be able to change the color, as those are configured to adapt to the color theme of the operating system.

Thank you Altenbach!

Yes, have yourself a kudo, and don't mind me as I gently scrape the egg off my frowning face!!

I wanted to thank you for this reply. Even though I knew the part about how to select the tools palette, I did _not_ know about the "System" palette being designed to match the OS (and therefore not configurable). This actually came up recently - regarding radio buttons I believe - and we were stumped as to why System behaved differently from Classic.
