How does Elasped Time feature work and expected accuracy

Thanks to all that helped out.  It seems I have opened a can of worms for myself.  Not knowing the inner workings of Windows/CPU has bit me in the butt.  But, I will gladly stick with the application expertise and leave the inner working details of programming to you experts (with awe)..... way to frustrating for me.

Note also that as of LV 2010 (Windows and Mac at least) there is a high-resolution counter with around a microsecond resolution.  Accuracy appears dependent on CPU load

per Altenbach's comment.... yep,  with the help I received I come to that realization.  Don't know what I am going to do about it yet but at least I know where I stand.
