How to create a .dll from a simulink model .mdl file

Hello all,

According to the instruction here:http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3447

I am supposed to be able to compile my simulink model into .dll and put it into LabView.

However, when I try to create a .dll out of my model by going to Simulation -> Configuration Parameters -> Real-Time workshop. I tried to change the system target file to  NIdll.tlc, but I am not able to find that in System target file browser dialog box.

I have LabView8.6, TestStand4.1.1, MatLab2006a.

What is wrong?

Thanks.

Chase.

Hey Chase,

This could be version dependent. However, could you try writing the path of the Nldll.tlc in and see if that works?

I could not find the NIdll.tlc file anywhere on my system. Did I forget to install anything?

I am not sure, I dont use Simulink that often. I use CD&Sim for my simulation purposes.

Also you can import your simulink models to it.

Best of luck!

Hey Bladhart,

After doing a little research, I have found that the .dll file is indeed something from our side. It gets installed with the Simulation Interface Toolkit.

I hope this resolves your issue.

Hi gomugomu,

What was your installation order?

You will need to install the MathWorks, Inc. MATLAB® software before the NI Simulation Interface Toolkit.

Have a great day,
