How to get LabView to recognize my Personal DAQ 56

I have recently installed an Omega OMB-DAQ-56, which as far as I can tell is the exact same product as the IOTech Personal DAQ 56, since that's the drivers they sent me.  When I try to select the device in the Measurement & Automation Explorer it is not listed under Devices and Interfaces.  When I try to add the device I can't get anything to recogize the hardware.  I have LabView 8.0 Professional which included VISA, I have not had any luck using this program either.  I have also installed the drivers made for LabView that came with the IOTech software.  I could imagine that the default install directory is not the correct one, so if there's a specific folder these drivers need to be installed to let me know.  Otherwise is there anything else I can try to get LabView to recognize this device?  I have had success using the DASYLAB software to monitor several thermocouples with my hardware, so I'm pretty sure that the hardware is installed correctly.

MAX is only for NI hardware. It will not, and should not be expected to, detect DAQ boards from anyone else. A DAQ board (from anyone) can not be used with VISA. If you got LabVIEW drivers, try them and see if you get any errors. To configure a DAQ board outside of LabVIEW, you will need to use whatever utility the vendor provides.

I am not sure if the drivers are the same as the IOTech drivers, or if all IOTech drivers act the same way, but at one point I installed one of the IOTech drivers into LabVIEW 8, and I just had to change the install directory from LabVIEW 7.1 to 8.0 (Verify that the complete path matches your system).  You should then be able to find the VIs in the User Library of the function pallette. As Dennis mentioned, you will not ever see this device in Measurement & Automation Explorer, nor will it work with the National Instruments DAQ drivers.

If this doesn't work for you, try contacting Omega for tech support specific to their product.

Thanks guys, got it all figured out and installed now.  It did install to the wrong directory, and I took me a while to realize where the VI's were... but it looks like smooth sailing from here.
