i have changed the vi´s a little bit. Now if you select a range of cells and rows the select part will be shown in your vi.

This seems like a roundabout way of doing this. It would seem to me to be far easier to read in the spreadsheet into a LabVIEW table control and then allow the user to select the data that way.

In fact, if the data is saved as tab-delimited text in the first place, then there's no need to even have Excel in the first place.

I would have to agree. Excel and labview work OK together but it is sometimes not so robust. I would load specific things for the user to select into a Multicolumn listbox or a table and then let the user select what they want to from that.

Is there a specific reason to use excel.
