How to upgrade LabView 5.1.1 project to 8.5?

I need to upgrade a LabView 5.1.1 project to LabView 8.5. Is this difficult? Can I upgrade directly from 5.1.1 to 8.5?

Thanks,
Isaac

No.

See page 43 of the 8.5 upgrade notes: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371780c.pdf

I had suspected that LV 5.1 fell by the way-side.

You'll have to upgrade to an earlier version and then go to LV 8.5.

There may be complications since many things have changed.

OK wow, those upgrade notes refer users to infocode ext8h9 which is a KB about upgrading to 8.2.  Sorry, we must have missed that one I'll either get that info code changed or get that KB updated.

The infocode should probably refer you to this help topic which describes a little more about the process.  If you are coming from version 5.x you'll need to get an eval copy of an older version of LabVIEW to use to bring your files to an intermediate version before opening them in version 8.5.  We tried to make that as painless as possible, but over the years there have been some issues that have come up so make sure to test out your application as you are upgrading and to read over the upgrade notes.  If you encounter any specific issues you need help with be sure to start new threads in this LabVIEW board to get help from NI and the LabVIEW community.

thanks, hope this helps-
