Is there any settings for finding 'Target and Devices?

Hello LesElec
Do you have all software/drivers installed? those options are dependant on the drivers/software you have installed. For a cRIO you will need the RIO driver, the Real Time Module and the FPGA module.

I am using neither of these, but the field point (cFP 1804). As you can see in my second attachment, in LabVIEW 2011 I have ' Add Target and Devices'.

Your just a little off. Projects have one or more target(s), "My Computer" is one possible target. but, targets can't have targets. LabVIEW 2012 improved this small project issue

Hello Jeff
Actually that is not accurate, My computer can have FPGA and MXIe targets for example :
@LesElec, if you see different options in LV 2011, than in LV 2012, or any other versions, the most probably reason is that you did not installed the driver/software compatibility for that version of LV.

I do have a screen shot of the MAX that I sent earlier. If I am using only field points, what else would be needed? By the way, if I right-clicked on 'Project:', I do see 'Target and Devices', which tell me it is unlikely to be a installation of drivers/compatibility issue.

Thanks for the correction. That's what I get for going by memory rather than opening both LabVIEW versions.
Restated: You do not see DAQmx or Targets in LabVIEW 2011sp1 project targets but you do see Targets from project>>new.
What order did you install LabVIEW 2012, LabVIEW 2011 and Device drivers? Do the NI drivers (and DAQmx) Funtion Palattes appear in 2011?

I see DAQ-mx and Targets and Devices in Labview 2011, but not in 2012. I have been switching back and forth so many times that the statement I made earlier about seeing Target and Devices when is right-click on 'Project' in Labview 2012 is incorrect. The NI drivers (and DAQmx) Funtion Palattes appear in 2011.
The order is:
Labview 2011
Devices drivers
Labview 2012
Devices drivers February 2012

Hello LesElec
After your last post, if this is what you are using:
Labview 2011
Devices drivers
Labview 2012
Devices drivers February 2012
Device drivers February 2012, does not include support for LabVIEW 2012, as it was released on August 2012, you can download the device driver August 2012 from the link below:

Device drivers for from February 2012 will not work with LabVIEW 2012, you need to install the newest drivers to be able to use them with 2012
The version of DAQmx that you have installed does not support LabVIEW 2012.
