Any words to go with your title?

I'm going to assume that you are trying to say you don't have the Instrument I/O assistant installed and want to know how to install it.

Have you installed the VISA drivers following your LabVIEW installation.

Zack,

It sounds like you are following along with the knowledgebase article How Can I Fix an "Instrument I/O Assistant Not Installed Properly" Error? which is good.

Are you trying to install from the driver device CD or from a file that you downloaded from NI.com?

Do you get any errors while uninstalling the instrument I/O Assistant before you try to install it again?

I would recommend going to to your control panel >> programs and features >> and then right click National Instruments Software and select Uninstall/Change and remove NI-VISA, NI-488.2, and NI Installation I/O Assistant.

Next install NI-VISA (and NI 488.2 if you are using GPIB). There should be an option to install NI Installation I/O Assistant along with it. (I would suggest the 5.0.3 version which is current for LabVIEW 2010 as of March 2011)  This can be found at NI-VISA 5.0.3

If you are unable to install the NI Installation I/O Assistant from the NI-VISA installer then we'll probably have to go to the Device Driver download.

I have a similiar problem, however, I downloaded LabView straight from NI through my school. I don't have a disk to install the Instrument I/O Assistant. Do you know where else I can download the driver?
