Is it possible to run VI's written in LV8.6 on LV8.5?

Hello guys,

I've written a VI on a machine with LabView 8.6 and I want to send it to someone who has LV 8.5 / LV 8.2 on his machine. Can he start the VI and run it on LV 8.5 or on LV 8.2?

Hi,

You have to save those VI's for previous version using "File -> Save for previous version" and then selecting the appropriate version.

Alternative: If all they need to do is run it, then you can compile your VIs into an app and then they would just need the 8.6 Run-Time Engine. Probably six of one, half-a-dozen of another in this case, though ...
