LV crashes on exit

I am using LabVIEW 8.5 installed on VISTA sp1. Whenever I exit LabVIEW, LabVIEW crashed with the message "LabVIEW 8.5 Development System has stopped working".  It does not happen If I use a different installation of same LabVIEW on VISTA (no sp1).

Any remedy for that?

Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit Vista?  I don't think I've used SP1 of Vista yet, and clearly LabVIEW 8.5 wasn't tested with it, but I would find it surprising and disturbing if this was a general issue with Vista SP1.

It should be noted that Vista SP1 is a release candidate at this point and is not going to be officially released to the public until the middle of March.  It is still possible that Micorosft will change SP1 between now and then based on feedback from those testing the release candidate.  The SP1 you have installed is either beta or release candidate.

Hi. LV crashes even you don't open any vi but LV menu only? I experienced some bugs before with certain vis in LV. While open and running they didn't report any error, until LV closes. The problem were some bugs which if executed, they overwrite (or try to overwrite) memory out of LV space, when LV closes, LV detects this memory corruption and reports the error. Each version of windows have more error detection than previous versions, means it would have been a but never detected before, but detected only by the latest version of Vista.

     Good Luck.

My VISTA is SP1 RC1 (build 6001.17052).

RC1 stands for Release Candidate 1.  While this may end up being what Microsoft officially launches to the public in a couple of weeks, it may not be, either.  Microsoft sent me a link to download it, but I put it off for this very reason.

I hope someone would be able to replicate the error on a different machine.

I just noticed this morning that my 64-bit Vista machine was ready to install SP1 via automatic updates, so I assume this is the released version.  After installation I fired up LabVIEW 8.5 and exited a few different ways and did not see any crash.
