LabVIEW 2025 Q1 on Windows 11 Pro - Multiple Errors / Cannot Install

Solved!
Go to solution

I have a beast of computer - maybe that is the problem - AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5945WX 12-Cores - with fresh Windows 11 Pro. I am looking to install LabVIEW.

I tried :

1) from the USB stick - NI original - and I have multiple errors. Initially error 12 that some files do not have proper signatures. After removing as many components as I could I remain with bare basic and I still got: " An error occurred while installing the MSI at "MStudioCommonHelp64.msi"

2) to download from NI and I got:

"An error occurred while upgrading from package 'ni-msdotnet4x (25.0.0.49181-0+f29)' to 'ni-msdotnet4x (25.3.0.49173-0+f21)'.

Additional error information:
• An error occurred while upgrading the package 'ni-msdotnet4x'. The package upgrade type is 'clean'.
• Error '127' occurred while calling Windows function 'GetProcAddress'.
• An error occurred in OnTransactionStep for transaction type 'upgrade'."

Any idea? Maybe because is Windows 11 Pro while Ni mentions only Windows 11?

This is on a new fresh Windows 11 Pro install. I checked and there is no additional Security App installed. Even the Win Security is at a minimum; nothing fancy, no Microsoft account. All local.

My 5th sense tells me is that NI modules signatures are not recognized by Win 11 Pro and rejected. But why? Either NI did not do their job on this Q1 release ( to verify compatibility with Win 11) or Win 11 Pro is over zealous and is rejecting software.

You have to disable the Windows Smart App Control which is nosing around. After this, the install worked.
