LabVIEW 8.6: 3D Picture Control Order

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

Probably a bug but I was wondering if anybody out there knows why this is going on, or how to get around it. .

See attached file - saved for LabVIEW 8.2.1. It has two controls on it, a 3D Picture Control and a Boolean button which sits on top of it. Open it up in LabVIEW 8.6 and the Boolean is behind the 3D Picture Control and you can't move it back in front of the 3D Picture control. Save it for previous version 8.2 within LabVIEW 8.6 then open it up in LabVIEW 8.2.1 and the button is back in front of the 3D Picture Control.

Answers on a postcard (or a CAR NI).

Tom.

Move?  Did you try reordering the controls to get the button to appear in front of the picture control like the original poster said?

I was unable to reorder the controls to bring the button in front of the picture control in LV 8.6.1.

Yes, I can move it aswell but not move it in front of the other control.

I was able to swap their order using LabVIEW 8.5.1, but not in 8.6 nor 8.6.1.

I would vote this as a bug.

Hello Tom,

This was reported to our R&D department (CAR ID#146558) for further investigation. There is no workaround posted yet.

You can email your local branch with this reference and find out if there is any development in the near future, or look out for a fix with the next LabVIEW release.

Thanks very much for your feedback! It is much appreciated!

Kind Regards,

It's actually a drawing issue.  You can move the boolean in front.  If you strat right-cliking where the boolean is supposed to be, you will get the contaxt menu for the boolean and not the 3-D picture.  LabVIEW seem to be drawing the 3-D picture last reagrdless of whether or not it is on top.
