lach,
Don't upgrade past 8.5.1 yet. That's currently the most robust release. NI is making mistakes with this type of policy. They are forcing you to break your existing code in order to upgrade. Besides, 8.6 doesn't offer anything good anyway. It's like going from XP to Vista.
Even if you do upgrade and fix all you existing code, every application will get much bigger for no reason. If the new toolkit is written in LVOOP, that means in order to use even a single vi from the toolkit every single LVOOP method for the report toolkit and all their dependencies will need to be packaged with the application (if you want to build an exe for example). If you open a word report, you'll still have to package in all the methods for an excel or html report too. That's just how LVOOP works - you can't just load one method, you have to load the entire class hierarchy. Plus historically there have been lots of build problems anyway and I don't know if they are all fixed.
LVOOP has its place, but the report generation toolkit is not it.

My 1.1.1 serial # was able to activate 1.1.3, so I am now up and running with 1.1.3.
Thanks Everyone,
Hmm, weird, my 1.1.1 serial number DID NOT activate 1.1.3 on 8.6

Adam,
I was not very clear. I requested NI Support and with my 1.1.1 serial # I was able to obtain a 1.1.3 serial # to activate my report gen tookit.
Sorry for the misinformation

I totally agree with billings its pointless the upgrade and might be one of our biggest mistakes if we need to finish our application quickly without asking for any support or changing our code radically.
Hope the toolkits guys start to think in the easiest thing for us and not for the sales guys

Hi tca-adam,
You probably should call in to customer service and get your account corrected. It could be just attributed to the wrong email address. Here's the contact page: http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/nicc.call_me.
And again, you need Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.3 for LabVIEW 8.6. There is a KnowledgeBase article on this: Report Generation Toolkit Compatibility with Microsoft Office and LabVIEW.

Long story short; it seems that toolkit version 1.1.4 fixes the problem.
