Now I know what I want for xmas! 😄

(Hopefully, there will be a LabVIEW student edition with the FPGA module included so we can actually use that target plug-in!)

yeah, I read that also, hopefully they use the academic as a starting point for making it available in the future for us. (hint hint to the NI guys)

Hi all;

I tried to download the setup file since I have some Spartan 3E boards I want to experiment with but the setup.exe is not starting properly anyone who has the same problem?

I just saw that the original exe is removed and NI posted an zip file, I will check it tomorrow at my lab.

Hi Everybody!
   I was wondering if NI is going to release a commercial product (I mean, not for educational purposes), i.e. a sw kit containing all the necesary to develop with Xilinx starter kits.

   What I was thinking of, is to use Xilinx starter kit as HW to integrate in commercial products, specially when:

• short time to market
• reliable behaviour (using PC104 SBC with embedded RT linux requires too developement effort, and less low level capabilities)
• we have to build few items (low-volume / high added value products)
• high customizability.

   Using Xilinx starter kits would be okay.  Embedded developement module (blackfin) costs too much for our purposes...

   Is other software needed in FPGA developement toolchain? Xilinx ISE...

   For this project we can't use NI products (we just need a board, with some IO pin, and that has to interface with some peripheral ICs, so both cFP and cRIO are not the better choice for this, I supose)
