LabVIEW crashes when creating an empty project?

When I try to create a new or open an existing project LabVIEW crashes.  We can still open VIs but cannot create executables because LabVIEW 8.0 requires a project file.  We reinstalled NI-Daq and LabVIEW and it corrected the problem temporarily.  Please Advise.

Usually when LabVIEW crashes you get a crash report and with it you can select "Help->Investigate Internal Error...". This takes you to a page with possible solutions as well as an option to email the crash report to NI.

A few questions: Does this happen on just one computer? When you did a reinstall was it a completely clean reinstall? In other words, when you uninstalled LabVIEW did you also delete the entire National Instruments directory? Before reinstalling, you should try to delete the labview.ini file that's in the main LabVIEW directory and then relaunch LabVIEW to have it create a new one. Corruptions in this file tend to cause problems. Also, what OS are you using, and what are your computer specs?

It happens on one computer.  We are running LabVIEW on a laptop with XP.  1.8 GHz, 1 GB Ram.  When we reinstalled, we thought we had wiped out everything.  When it crashes it opens up the LabVIEW project window for about a second and then disappears.  There aren't any error messages or anything.  Where can I find the crash report?  Thanks for your help.
