Labview 6.1 problems - refreshing

I have manually added a second thread in labview 6.1 so that my progress bar and download bar can run at the same time. My problem is is that it doesn't show it. I know it works b/c when i click outside of the program, let's say i click window's task bar. it starts to work. I have an older version of labview 6.1 and on this one, it immediately shows action. How can i make the other labview  work like the old one?

I don't understand how an older version of labview works the way i want to whereas the newer version of labiew doesn't change unless i click on some application outside of the program

My project works on button presses(Latch until release). I investigated further and it gets stuck when I do a button press in Labview 6.1. When I deselect the whole VI, it starts running normally. Is this fixable?

It is not clear what you mean. What version is "the older version"?

What is the meaning of "deselect the whole VI"? What are you actually doing?

Could you attach your VI so we can have a look?

Pretty much the same problem this person had a while back:

I don't think we found a solution back then, so it seems unlikely that we will find one now. It seems this is a very rare problem and only occures on very few systems. 😞

Are you also on Windows 2000? Have you considered upgrading? LabVIEW 6.1 is a bit old. Also check you system and try to upgrade drivers, e.g. for the graphics card.

I have the exact same system as the other person who had the similar problem. The only difference is that the other person had service pack 4 wheras I have service pack 2.
