Labview realtime desktop PC : unable to install software

I have a Labview realtime desktop PC which was running OK until this afternoon.
I tried to use the Realtime System Replication.  It wasnt able to copy my config because my app was too heavy and ftp was sloooow.
I used ftp to delete my app from the target PC.
From this point I wasn't able to work with the target PC.

At boot time I've got this message:

...Transferring control to user program.

...Labview RealTime desktop PC boot loader

...Copyright …

 ...

...Searching hd for boot program .. not found.

...Using safe mode program

...Init network

...Device 1 … MAC .. IP

...

System State : No software installed

When I try to maintain the system via measurement explorer, I'm able to modify the network configuration and to reboot the target.
Measurement explorer displays "Connected - no software installed" in the status bar (as a matter of fact it displays "Connecte - aucun logiciel installe", I'm using a french version). If I try to install software with the dedicated button ("Add/remove software" I guess) I get a message box displaying an error 59

Thanks in advance
Nicolas

Nicolas,
Is it possible you inadvertently removed a required file when you FTP'd to the target? I get the impression that the host no longer knows what is installed on the target nor can it repair it.
Within MAX you can create an Uninstall Disk (option 1) or a Format Disk (option 2). Neither are desirable options, granted, but if the Add/Remove software option throws an error, then I suspect your target has been corrupted. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can translate your specific error code....

I was afraid of this kind of response because I was reluctant to reinstall (my target PC has no floppy, it's a pain to access to access to the HD ....)
I'm going to try to reinstall from another development PC before using a floppy (last chance)

Thanks anyway for your help.

It worked !
I don't now how or why but it worked.
I was able to install software from another dev PC.
I may have a config problem on my dev PC or the target needed a good night of sleep.

I have just created my first USB utility drive using MAX, LV8.2, and a blank USB drive. If you have 8.2 available (a big "if", I realize), I would recommend creating one as well. It allows you to boot the desktop into safe mode (no software load). I imagine you could have used it in this scenario to determine if the HDD was bad, the software alone was corrupt, the entire RT install was corrupt, etc....

Plus it does not require a floppy. A nice addition, in my opinion...

Just my 0.02$US.

It'really a big 'If' considering that I'm using the real-time module for LabWindows/CVI. And we are always one version behind...at least.
Thanks anyway.
