Lost data at read the serial port

Hi , I am developing a data logger using a serial port, for that I am using the visa tools, but when I do the reading of data, lost data, the labview have a tool that detects the first character en serial port to proceed to read the port?, something like to as the microcontrollers!!!,

Someone might suggest me some solution?

If I understand correctly you want to know if there is anything to read. You can use the Visa/Advanced/Bus Specific/Serial/Bytes at Port for that.
