Microsoft Office Report Generation toolkit with Labview 8

I have correctly installed Microsoft Office Report Generation toolkit 1.1 with Labview 8 but the functions of the toolkit doesn't appear in the Functions Palette --> Report Generation. Why?

According to the readme file on the LabVIEW 8 CD, you need to upgrade the Report Genereation Toolkit to 1.1.1

Hppe this helps

I have updated to Report Gen Toolkit V1.1.1 with LabView 8 and it still doesn't work. It keeps installing it in the V7.1 directory and I can't work out how to change the install path.

I tried copying the files from V7.1 to V8 directories with no joy.

Anyone had any success with this?

When you are installing the Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.1, there is a page during the install wizard that tells you where it plans to install.  By default, this should be the folder where you have the latest version of LabVIEW installed...so it should be defaulting to install to the LabVIEW 8.0 folder.  What folder do you see specified when you run the installer?  Did you have any problems during the LabVIEW 8.0 installation?  Are you using the released version of LabVIEW 8.0 and not a beta?

I have tested installing the Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.1 on a machine with multiple versions of LabVIEW installed, and I did not encounter any issues.  Please let me know if you're still having problems, and it would be helpful if you attach screenshots of each page of the Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.1 installer *with their default values* in your reply.

What folder do you see specified when you run the installer?  the V7.1 folder - no browse button available to change it.

Did you have any problems during the LabVIEW 8.0 installation? No, all installed fine (or so I thought!)

Are you using the released version of LabVIEW 8.0 and not a beta? Yes released version

I uninstalled LabVIEW V7.1 and also uninstalled V1.1.1 toolkit (left in the V7.1 addons directory). I also deleted the same toolkit directories I had copied over to V8 to try to get it to work........

After removing any evidence that the toolkit was previously on my PC, the re-install went fine and it was no longer forcing the install to the V7.1 directory but gave me a 'browse' button and had by default selected the V8 directory.

All is well. I may not have needed to uninstall V7, but it's done now!

I had the same problem when I installed it.. What I ended up doing was uninstalled it fromt he LV7.1 directory. Launched LV8, then closed it and reinstalled the toolkit and it installed in the proper directory. I think that works the same way if you have multiple versions on LV on one machine, if you last ran LV7, then double clicking on a vi diretly to open it will start the last version you had running..

I'm glad you guys got the problem resolved, although I'm still not sure why it's happening.  I've never seen the Browse button disabled on the install, and I tried all sorts of combinations (I even remember installing on a machine with LabVIEW 7.0, 7.1, and 8.0 installed).  The only other thing I can think of is that maybe you did not restart the computer after installing LabVIEW 8.0.  But if you did, I'm really clueless.  Anyway, if y'all have any additional problems installing the toolkit, let me know and we'll try some further investigations.

Hello,

You need to contact NI to get the 1.1.1 upgrade CD shipped to you.  It is a free upgrade as long as you already have version 1.1.  The upgrade costs $195 for users of RGT 1.0.x.

I can't find any up to date instructions for when using a LV8 project with Report Generation Toolkit.

Where do I put the Dynamic VIs in the project that are needed to run the toolkit? The documentation only describes the LV7 interface and not the project builder. How do I link to them?

Uncompiled my code runs fine and launches Word succesfully, but once compiled it doesn't.

many thanks
Adam
