This is actually quite fascinating.

I wanted to say thanks for finding this and let you know that I have successfully replicated the issue. I agree it is a bug and will be filing a Corrective Action Request on the issue shortly. If I get any updates on the status of the CAR I will update you as I am able.

I wanted to offer an update that the CAR has been filed and is currently under evaluation by R&D.

Interestingly, a coworker noticed another bug related to this. Until you expand the string control from it's default size, you can't enable horizontal or vertical scroll bars under the "visible items" fly-out on the right-click menu. You can edit it in properties regardless of control size.

I'll be adding this information to the CAR as well.

You're right.  I had noticed the disabled scrollbars on the right click menu as well.  But it didn't occur to me that that behavior was unexpected.

Do you place the bugs in a jar?  😉

I put them in a garage...

Seriously, I tag them as "CAR_number", so that I can occasionally check them out (it is usually pointless, as NI very rarely bothers to update a thread in which a CAR was issued, but that has happened).

I know you're serious about it.  I was just being silly because I think every little kid put bugs in jars when they collect them?  😉
