NI DAQmx install problem

When I try to install DAQmx, I get the following screen.  Can someone help figure out what is wrong?

When I launch NI MAX, I do not get the Create New button.  What I read is that I may not have NI DAQmx installed, so I tried to install it.  Anyway, after realizing it is installed, I tried to run a repair.  this did not help either, I still have the problem of the Create New button not showing (picture below).  Any other ideas you have would be appreciated.

What version of LabVIEW do you have installed, and what version of DAQmx are you trying to install?

LabView version is 20.0.1 (32-bit).

If I go to NI Package Manager, it says I have NI-DAQmx 20.1.0

NI MAX says it is version 20.5.0f0

When I downloaded the DAQmx file to try a new install, the install file is:  ni-daqmx_20.1_online_repack2.exe

"repack" seems to be a funny name for an installer.  But I don't know if that is a good or bad thing.

 

Go to Max and expand the Software branch of the tree and take a screenshot of that.

Here is a partial listing of my LabVIEW 2020 (I also have 2019 installed here) Software, as viewed by MAX:

As you can see, it definitely includes NI-DAQmx.

 

It is not clear (to me) why your installation falied (but it clearly did).  Based on more than a decade of wrestling with LabVIEW Installation Woes (2011 was definitely a Bad Year, as was 2017), my recommendation would be to "find a LabVIEW Guru" and ask her/him to do the following:

  1. Uninstall all National Instruments Software.
  2. Install the National Instruments Software that you need to use right now.  By this I mean install the minimum set of LabVIEW, Toolkits, Modules, Device Drivers, and "Additional Features".  Once you have a stable base installation, it is fairly easy (Famous Last Words) to add an addition Item or two.
  3. I would also recommend (both because you are having trouble and because it seems to have a better "Track Record" installing (only) LabVIEW 32-bit (on a Windows 10 64-bit platform).

There have been numerous posts on the Forum (and on the Web) about how to uninstall National Instruments Software safely.  You definitely want to let NIPM do this for you -- do not try to "force install" LabVIEW!  In my (sad) experience, it doesn't work, and leads to a "Backup all your Documents, Gather all your Software Installation Disks/Downloads/Licenses, Reformat the C: Drive, Re-Install Windows, Re-Install other Software, Restore your Documents ...".

 

Once you have "followed the Directions" and no more National Instruments Software shows up in Control Panel under Programs and Features, you are ready to start a "clean Installation" of LabVIEW, which starts with NIPM, the Installer.  My suggestion is to get someone who has done this to do it for you.  You want to do this in about 4-6 "passes", installing the minimum new things at each step, with LabVIEW (only, preferably 32-bit) first, no Device Drivers (you'll have to tell NIPM to not install them), and few "Additional Features", rebooting after each cycle of Installation.  Do Device Drivers last (if NIPM will allow you to postpone them).  Do not install things you don't need.

Hi

 

Having much the same issue, did this work for you?

 

I have already wiped NI off and re-installed it a moth or so ago but I was more interested then in NXG. Looking to move our application back to LabVIEW but it seems that "things" are missing from that install.
