My NI update Service 16.0 when opened complaints of an error and exits. I tried reinstalling the Update service from NI website but the error persists.
I have Labview 2014 Professional Development system SP1 in a Windows 10 system. I had already reported this issue around 8 months back via Service Request to NI. I was sent a link to download the Update Service separately and install it. (http://www.ni.com/download/ni-update-service-16.0/6173/en/ ). It didn't work.
I get the same error. I uninstalled 2014 LV completely from my PC and reinstalled it with the above given Update service separately.
Still I get the same error. Should I manually install 2015 LV and do away with 2014 LV?
Thanks.

Have you notified NI Support that you are (still) having this problem? Have they verified that they can reproduce it?
I've got multiple versions of LabVIEW (2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016) on my work PC (Windows 7) and have not experienced any problem with the Update Service (16.0.0.33). Note that I do not install updates for hardware/software that I don't have.

Hello,
I see that you created an email ticket for this issue. I will let the AE who is working with you on that continue from here.
Thank you, Anthony

I uninstalled Labview 2014 from my Windows 10 because thay aren't compatible (according to NI - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/B972242574D4BB99862575A7007520CB). I installed LV 2015 SP1 but the error persisted.
NI support engineer suggested me to delete the config.ini file in National Instruments folder under Program Files as given in http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/841E5F20B5810996862578E2004D7D37 .
It worked!!
Now the LV update manager works without error in Windows 10.
Thanks.
