NIWeek 2013 session scheduling? (web page and app)

Hi,

Happy 4th everyone.

Is anyone else having trouble scheduling sessions for NI Week 2013?

I have tried from my PC using Chrome and using Internet Explorer (ni week sessions)

--> You must be logged in to schedule a session   (I am logged in, I check this by clicking the "National Instruments" logo in top-left of the browser window, then "My NI" and it takes me to my account.

I installed, logged in, accepted the "terms" of the iphone app (NIWeek 2013 on iTunes)

--> When choosing "add to schedule" from inside the app, it pops up and says "Notice Sorry! You do not have access to schedule sessions" and thats that.. I'm logged in, I'm registered for NI Week (paid and confirmed by NI). I called support, but that didn't really help either.

They said someone else called in with the same problem, so either there are only 2 of us out here with this issue, or the majority is not bothering to call/e-mail support??

You may need to create a new account to log in to the NI Week site.  I think I recall that last year the regular NI log in did not work for NI Week.  Some of us complained about that at one of the feedback sessions but it may not have changed.  I think it was something about using a different web service provider for the NI Week scheduling but that may be faulty memory.

Hi and thank you for responding.

I'm just a bit confused. I can't find a different webpage than www.ni.com/niweek and as attached picture shows, I'm logged in, and I don't see any other log-in options?

As far as creating a new account, that seems strange, since the purchase is linked to my ni.com account. Also, if that is what it takes, I think I will just forget about it because it took NI a good 6 months to straigthen out some user account issues for us in the past, that happened when our staff got a new email domain. Something about the account system triggering brand new "profiles" when the e-mail and/or company name is updated on a profile.

Anyway, I hope it gets fixed, because with 200+ sessions, classes, prep's and exams, it will be very busy to manage the schedule manually.

I may be wrong.  Perhaps they fixed it.  I am not going to NI Week this year, so I have not looked at the registration site.

Hello QFang,

Sorry you've been having trouble signing up.  I noticed that you haven't posted in a few days and wanted to know if you resolved your issue or you're still having difficulty.  You mentioned that you contacted support, was this the technical support line (866-275-6964) or was it the number listed on the niweek registration page (1-888-564-9335)?  The second number deals directly with NIWeek registration and should be a better avenue for supporting this issue.

Hi,

Thanks for monitoring.

The issue remains. (I am registered for NI week 2013 so thats all good, this problem is specifically with panning what sessions to attend, and manage session overlaps, i.e. schedule my week).

I have contacted web support (since to me the web-page functionality appears to be broken), I have also called the NIWeek support number (last Wednesday) but with the long 4th weekend, I have not heard back yet.

I considered filing an NI Support ticket using my SSP contract under "LabVIEW", but that would likely be the wrong support resources to use.

Lastly, I just re-checked now, and the issue remains, but the verbage on the "+" symbol to "schedule options" has changed, now it does not say I have to be logged in, rather it states that "there aren't any available sessions at this time" which clearly is also not correct.

Thanks,

Q

QFang,

Since you called the NIWeek support number and created a request then someone should contact you soon, but the support might be a bit backed up after the holiday. If you don't hear back this afternoon I would call in again.  You're correct that creating an SR in the "LabVIEW" category isn't how you should proceed since this is not a technical issue.

What is strange to me is that nobody else seems to have issues?

Just spoke with support again, she had been told by the web-team that the problem had been found and fixex, but based on the new information, she is going back to them to say that indeed it is not.

Also, you don't even need to be registered/logged in to see the current unexpected behavior: just go to www.ni.com/niweek/ click on "conference content" then "view the online session catalog" then click on any session title and/or the "schedule option" of any session. . They are now all showing up as "not available" where last week they would show the day and time that the session will be held.

I'm having the problem too.  Date and time are shown, but when you try to schedule it says "You must login to schedule." and gives the number of remaining seats.

This is actually the 3rd time that this has changed behavior. At first I got "must be logged in" but nothing else, then it changed to "no sessions sceduled" or "available" I forget which one, and today, as you just posted Taper, I now see "must be logged in" and it shows number of seats remaining.

I also keep not getting called back by the lady that does my support on this, so once I get a chance, I will call her back and ask. Last I called back, she had been told by the web-team (or whoever) that the issue had been fixed, so I had to set her straight on that, and we verified that she was seeing the same issue on her end, so it was not limited to me/my profile.

It wouldn't hurt if everyone who have these issues would call in, as I think its low priority because it appears nobody else has these issues...?
