NT4 nonadministrator LabView won't run?

VI's that were written with administrator-rights, won't run with user-rights? (Serial, daq's ...) The user has permission "Full control" to almost everything. (PC/NT4/SP6a/LV5.01)

Hi Chris,

your LV Version 5.0.1 is quite old but we have used it on NT4. I am not sure we have SP6a installed when we used 5.0.1 last but we have had SP5. Our programmers are always normal users and we never got any problems with access rights.
Could you explain your error in more detail? What error messages do you get, can you load the VIs and you will get a broken arrow or what else?

If i try to open a vi (serial-communication), that works with administrator-rights, the vi doesn't open and gives an error like "Can't find file..". But i see and can access the file! The path in the error is correct.

Do you give the user full permissions to LabVIEW? VIs will not run without access to vi.lib. Have you tried to give adminstrator privilages to the user to test whether it is a privilage issue or a problem with the VI.
