Need Bluetooth DLL for PocketPC 2003 (LVBtw.dll)

Hi,

I use a pocket pc with Windows Mobile 5.0. My LabVIEW Version and LabVIEW PDA Modul Version is 8.0.1.

Now I have installed the BT driver on the Pocket PC. After the insatallation of the driver I get a warning that this driver is for an older version.

If I try to run a Bluetooth example he called that he can't load Bluetooth Library LVBtw.dll.

What can I do?

Thank you

What brand is your PDA?  I have found that Dell Axim went to the MS Bluetooth STack instead of Widcomm when they "upgraded" to 5.0.  I worked with an engineer at NI for several weeks and basically came to the conclusion that Labview can't do bluetooth if the PDA uses the MS bluetooth stack.

Hi TNeilson, thanks for your answer. The pda is called "mda pro" in Germany. He use the MS Bluetooth Stack. Do you know, if I can change the MS BT Stack in Widecomm? Have I another possibility to can run a LabVIEW application on my PDA? capunze

I'm pretty sure there is nothing you can do right now.  The stack is set in hardware, and if it is MS, Labview PDA will not work with it.  I was told by NI that there would be a solution at some point, but they couldn't give me a date.  It really threw a wrench in some software we were developing as well.

Wow!  I'm toast also!  My development just came to a screaching halt!  I'm using Windows Mobile 5.0 OS LV PDA PocketPC 8.0.1 and this DOES NOT HAVE the Widecomm bluetooth drivers.  NI, please, PLEASE give us a solution soon!

If it doesn't matter who makes your PDA, the HP iPAQ still uses the Widecomm stack.  For our bluetooth solution, we require the use of HP PDAs, for our non bluetooth solutions, it can use any with WM 5.0.

I am using WM 5.0 with a Samsung SCH-i730 Smartphone.  Cannot find the LVBtw.dll even though I manual placed it (along with the 2 other DLLs) in the \Windows directory.  Any ideas?

First off, with WM 5.0, don't place the other 2 dlls, only the LVBtw.dll should be placed.  WM5.0 already has newer versions and if you put th NI files in there, you overwrite them with older versions and it won't work correctly.  Of course, this is assuming it uses the correct stack in the first place.  I did have problems seeing the files, almost like they are hidden on some devices.  Try resetting your PDA back to factory defaults and only copy in the LBVtw.dll file and see if that works.

I am using PDA Module 8.0.1 and I have an HP iPAQ hx2970 running Windows Mobile Version 5.0.

When I ran the setup.exe, it installed the drivers fine as they showed up in my Windows folder but none of my simple Bluetooth test applications worked because of the LVBtw.dll error found by the original poster.  Upon closer inspection of the dll files, the setup installer actually installed older versions of the files than those that were included for manual transfer.  I found myself having to uninstall the original Labview dlls, rebooting the device and then manually copying over just the LVBtw.dll.  My apps can load fine without any error message popping up however, I've run into a new problem which deserves its own thread.

I still get the error message cannot find LVBtw.dll.  I obtained a new smartphone (Samsung i730) upgraded to WM5.0 via verizon website and manually put only the LVBtw.dll in the windows directory.  No luckSmiley Sad
