Hi anstech1,
Are you running the LabVIEW 8.6 Professional Development Suite, the Base version, the academic version, etc?

Thanks for the resonse.
It's supposed to be the development suite. The splash screen just says "labview evaluation version". I can build an executable which should be unavailable on the Base version. How can I check to see if my computer (Windows XP) has been configured to not allow it to be used as a web server? Any other help would be appreciated.

Hi anstech1,
I noted an instance where the Base version of LabVIEW had the Web Services checkbox greyed out (disabled). Since you are licensed for the Professional Development Suite, can you activate your LabVIEW to that version and then tell me whether you can check the Web Services checkbox?
As for getting Web Services running on a Windows computer, these are the steps: Activating Web Services (Windows)

I downloaded LV 8.6.1 from ftp.ni, now I am using it in the 30 day evaluation version, and I know that in this way I can use all the Professional Development System features. So why I find Web Services checkbox greyed out (disabled)? Should I download a different version? Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance

MikePi,
Which Development System have you downloaded? Can you look in NI License Manager and see?

A few days ago I downloaded LabVIEW861.zip from http://ftp.ni.com, but this file is unavailable now. Probably It has been removed from the site. However I have configured the 30 days evaluation mode installation, so everything seemed to work but web services (chekbox disabled). I would like to download the .zip Labview2010 version( i can't download the .exe by downloader because the severe proxy filtering!) Is there any link to it?
Well I am a student who is working on a Phd Thesis in Compuer Science, my task is to develop a web application whose aim is to gain remote access and control of VIs stored on Laboratory central server. This application should manage queued and concurrent requests on the same VI from different student's client PCs. As a network sub-system I would approach a lightweight Web services system based on a central proxy dispatcher that manages queued access to VIs, so I have to think about the proxy/Labview interface sub-system....Can You (if possible) suggest a possible approach? Can you show me (if exists) any document or article about this? Which Labview version fits best for the purpose?
Thanks in advance

MikePi,
One recommendation I have for you is to start two new discussion threads. You have two new questions and posting on an old thread makes it harder for the community to respond.
In order to get LabVIEW from the ftp site this has to be set up specifically from an Applications Engineer so if you want to do this again you will need to call in. In regard to the second question I would recommend leveraging the knowledge of the other forum users to come up with a good application architecture.
