I am having some strange issues with trying to use the PixeLINK SDK 4.2 sample programs and subvis. When I first open my program that I use to connect with my camera or any of the sample programs, the program can connect just fine. The problems arise when I stop the program and try to run it a second time. When I attempt a second run, the vi can no longer find the camera and doesn't connect, and in a few of the sample programs, such as the SimpleGUI.vi supplied with the SDK, have problems freezing up while running. If I try to play the video preview in the SimpleGUI.vi the program opens up two preview windows and then freezes or returns a "not responding" message. I wonder if these problems can stem from some compatibility issues between the version of LabVIEW the sample programs were written for (8.0,8.2,8.6, etc..) and the current version of LabVIEW that I am running on our computers here in lab. We are using version 9.0 and when ever I tried to use a sample program I used the version 8.6 samples due to the fact that they were the most recent version that came with the SDK. Does any one know if there are any inherent compatibility issues? I only have these problems when I run any form of a PixeLINK program any other time LabVIEW runs as it should. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
There should not be any inherent compatibility issues with such a small version upgrade. LabVIEW 2009 should work perfectly fine with LabVIEw 8.6 code: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000000YSO4CAO&l=en-US . You may want to make sure that you mass-compile the LabVIEW code just to make sure that everything is upgraded to 2009.

Hello,
Currently we have not ported our LabVIEW VI's over to 2009 or 2010 yet but I rave received confirmation from many customer that our current 8.6 code works with the latest version of LabVIEW.
I have attached a sample project, a customer supplied to us that was created in LabVIEW 2009.
