Real-time RPM measurement. sensor npn open collector. Which to use: NI6008 or NI9401?

Need to conduct real-time rpm measurement.

Sensor: Hall-Effect sensor (NPN Open Collector output) sensing gear teeth.

Resolution: Minimum 5000 teeth /s (pps)

Which should I use?  NI USB 6008 or NI 9401 ?
