Recovering a diagram

I couldn't find a FAQ, so my apologies if this is answered regularly.

The diagram for my top-level vi has gone missing, and I hope
someone knows how to recover it. To answer the obvious, I did
not do a save without diagram (and my sub-vi's still have diagrams)
and the code is password protected so I am 90% sure no-one else has
modified it. So I am assuming some wierd program bug that I hope
will have a standard easy fix ?

thanks
Dave

Dave,

I'm sorry to tell you, but there isn't a way to recover your diagram. I'm not sure of what happened to the diagram, but once it a diagram is gone there is nothing that can be done to recover them.

Dave,

Sometimes the most simple things are overlooked so please bare with me.
Sometimes when controls are copied and pasted, the resulting paste places
the control so far away from the block diagram you cant see the rest of the
code. Have you done this? Are the scroll bars way off in one direction
or another? If you are using version 5 or later and have not yet turned
off the computer (or saved your VI) you can try edit>>undo. You might have
selected and deleted the diagram in one quick move (especially if all you
code is in one loop or sequence). Undo will save you in this case.

I know this isnt much, but its better than NI's response of nope, too bad.

Good luck,
Jared

Interesting one ... the front panel cannot exist without the block diagram
(except for controls and globals). Perhaps an obvious thought ... the block
diagram window is appearing "offscreen" because of a monitor resolution
c
hange?

Not sure I agree with your initial statement- obviously a front panel CAN
exist without the diagram because you can remove the diagram if you wish!
