In order for LabVIEW to control your camera, you just need to make sure that the NI-IMAQ for 1394 driver is compatible with the camera. Cameras that output 8-bit monochrome uncompressed, 16-bit monochrome
uncompressed, YUV, or RGB video data and adhere to the IEEE-1394
standards for industrial digital cameras (up to IIDC v1.31, also known
as DCAM) will be compatible with the NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 driver.
The camera's documentation should tell if it is IIDC-compliant.
Once the camera is connected, and the driver is installed, you should be able to verify that you can control the camera from Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX).
The next step would be to open the example finder and take a look at the HL Snap VI to see a simple example of acquiring an image from the camera. You may also find more information here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/2977
