SEH: Specific Error Handler -> Call Chain

I would like to use the "Specific Error Handler" Express-Vi and therefore following questions:

Question:

How can I commit (transfer) to the central error handler the complete call-chain of the vi where my error occurs? Is there an easy way to do that with the specific error handler?

It is not very convenient if I need to do that always manually with all specific errors for each vi. On the other hand it is quite important to know in which vi (sub-vi) the error occured and not only to know what kind of error pops up.

Hey Norick_17,

this is Vanessa, AE from Germany. The "Specific Error Handler" has an output called "error out". If you define the output as "Convert to Warning?" via the configuration dialog you get an error cluster out. The source of this cluster tells you the call chain of the VI where the error occured. Is this a possible solution for your request?

danke für deinen Hinweis! Was ich eigentlich suchte war die Error-Anzeige welche mir die komplette Call-Chain im Central Error Handler anzeigt was ich bei einem Test-Vi zuerst nicht ingekriegt habe, nun jedoch einwandfrei funktioniert.

Was meiner Meinung jedoch noch fehlt ist die Möglichkeit Zusatzinformationen dem SEH zu übergeben, welche dann mit dem Error bzw. der Call-Chain an den Central Error Handler weitergeleitet werden. Nun muss dies mit einem Zusatz-Vi gelöst werden was nicht sehr elegant ist.Wen dies in das bestehende Express-Vi des SEH als Zusatzeingang implementiert würde wäre dies optimal.

wenn Sie eine Idee zur Verbesserung von LabVIEW einbringen möchten, können Sie dies immer über das "Idea Exchange Forum" tun. Ein gesposteter Beitrag kann dann mit "Kudos" von den anderen Mitgliedern versehen werden und gewinnt so an Priorität. Bei der Entwicklung zukünftiger Versionen von LabVIEW werden diese Ideen von den Entwicklern berücksichtigt.
