Slow VI startup when DSC is involved

It seems to take about 75 seconds to start my LV application which is based on LabVIEW DSC.  It is a batch-oriented data viewer (uses "DataSets") which does not contain any shared variables, but uses Historical DSC subVIs to access the Citadel data.

I know the delay is not in my LV code, because I set a breakpoint on the very first node and it doesn't get there for 75 sec (pretty consistent time delay).  So the problem is somewhere else.  The Citadel database resides on my local machine, although I used to have in on another computer in my Windows workgroup.

I've tried a lot of things including re-installing DSC, and creating an entirely new Citadel database locally to read from.  No joy yet.

Something else interesting:  I just did a build of my LV application and there is NO delay when my exe starts!

Any ideas?  This long delay is really annoying when I'm trying to develop/debug.  Every restart takes forever!  Thanks in advance.

David:

Do you also observe the long delay when you remove the DSC portion of your VI?. What version of LabVIEW are you using?. Feel free to post the VI as well as so that I can troubleshoot it further.

Thanks,

Sorry, I should have mentioned I'm using LV 8.2.  It's a reasonably large application (206 user VIs, 124 from vi.lib), and proprietary so I can't post it.  It would also take quite a bit of work to remove all the DSC-related subVIs from the application!  But I suppose I will try that when I get desperate.

David:

Have you tried accessing your Citadel Data in other applications?, say using MAX or another VI. I am curious to see if the issue with the that particular VI.

Thanks,
