Soft Scope won't load

I'm using MXI-4 to connect a PXI chasis to my HP work station. Occassionally (now), the Soft Scope Front Panel fails to load. I can see it pop up on the task manager for moment, then it disappears.

I'm using XP Pro and the latest scope drivers. MAX shows the PXI chassis and the Scope card. Why does Soft Scope Front apenl fail to load? In the past I've simply shut down the PC, then the PXI Chassis, then fired them both up again. Doesn't seem to help this time.

Hey Paul,

I just want to confirm a few things.

1. Are you using niScope version 3.2? You can find the verison number by opening MAX and expanding the Software folder. Then select NI-Scope and the version number should appear on the right side. Please post the exact version number of your driver.

2. Are you logged in on your Windows account as Administrator when this happens?

3. Do you have a digitizer/scope card plugged in your PXI chassis (If so, which one)?

4. Has this always been happening? Ie. are using this setup for the first time?

5. Are you able to run the self test and example programs?

Thanks!

1. Scope version 3.2.0f5
2. Yes
3. Yes, slot 1 and MAX sees it no problem
4. Has happened off and on since I started using this chassis (PXI-1036). Usually rebooting takes care of it. Not yesterday though. This morning no problem, scope loads just fine.
5. Yes. Even when Soft Scope won't load, the test panel functions.

Hey Pablop,

I do not think this is a problem with the MXI4 setup. I believe the problem might have occured during installation. The only time I have seen similar behaviour is when the user does not administrative privelages on his computer. I would suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the NI-Scope drivers. You can download the latest NI-Scope (version 3.2 for Windows) driver from here.

Let me know if this works for you.

Cheers
