I am using the strain gauge vi for labview, on the myrio. I will be amplifying the voltage across the resistor of the strain gauge, due to the readings being so small. Do I need to document this on the program?
Thanks

Not really what I meant, obviously i'm going to document this, but as far as running the program, do I change any of the characterisitcs? I am still keeping the 3.3 input voltage, just amplifiying the strain gauge for better readings.

Caleb,
I'm interested in measuring strain using a myRio. I wonder if you could offer advice on choosing strain gauges. For instance, which strain gauges did you use?
Thanks in advance,
Eric

Hi EricReynolds,
The article below offers some guidance on choosing a strain guage:

How do you use a strain gauge with the myRIO?

Hey,
Here is a guide to some common myRIO projects: https://education.ni.com/teach/resources/92/ni-myrio-project-essentials-guide
However, since this is an older thread on a slightly different topic, if you want to receive good help you should start a new thread.

Thank you, Catherine; this was helpful.
I ended up using general purpose linear pattern strain gauges from Vishay Precision Group, M-Bond 200 adhesive (to steel) and AD620 amplifiers.
