Hello.
I started using LabVIEW again after a few years.
It seems everything is slower than it used to be.
It took hours at first to install (Labview2024). Just LabVIEW Developer, and NI drivers on Windows. No add-ons.
Local copy.
The NI Hardware Configuration never worked. Keeps crashing.
I ran REPAIR using NI Package Manager. Took more than 5 hours to finish.
I deleted the NI Hardware Configuration utility.
Started Labview 2015.Q1 update. It has been 5 hours. Still running.
Is it just me, or NI got completely broken? Even their website is the slowest one from all the others I use every day.
It is really unproductive.

Just curious about PC spec. On the very old PC with slow HDD it could take hours, but on modern computer with fast SSD should take few minutes. May be 10-15 with drivers.

A few-month-old laptop.
Dell Latitude 5450
RAM 32Gb
Intel Core Ultra 7
The update was still running overnight and is not complete.
Could it be the Package Manager? Plus LabVIEW now installs so much plugins, even if you do not have packages.

Unfortunately, this is a work laptop and I do not have the rights to turn OFF the antivirus.

I have a Dell Precision 7550 with Core i7, and everything is OK from LabVIEW 7.1 to 2025. If you can't disable the antivirus, then it looks like a corporate environment, and sometimes admins use very 'aggressive' tools to protect intellectual property, cut off admin rights, etc. I once had a laptop where McAfee was used together with Defender, and it was really slow. It looks like a particular OS installation and setup issue.

Made another experiment:
1. I uninstalled National Instruments. It took 5 - 6 hours. Why does it take that long? The Package Manager does not need a server connection for uninstall.
2. Installed LabVIEW from the offline install file. Took 20min to install everything.
Still not sure why it takes so long to uninstall, but it seems definitely an issue with antivirus or my network settings when installing using Package Manager.
