Sorry, I made a mistake when saving.  This one should be in 8.0.  If 8.0 does not support the toolkit, your only alternative is to upgrade to a version that has the toolkit.  Contact NI.

Hello Rohini,

The toolkit that I used for the valves and pipes etc. is called the Labview DSC (Datalogging and Supervisory Control) module. For labview version 8.0 you may have to contact NI to purchase the toolkit. As the version of Labview you are using is an older version they may have it on disc and may be able to post it out to you. As it stands I dont think it is available to download from the NI site. I hope this helps and good luck with your project.

Dave

Hi tbob,

Good to hear from you also, I've had to step away from my project for a little while but im back now and will hopefully get it finished sometime soon. I've recently purchased what seems to be a pretty good book which I hope will help me progress a little further along this Labview road. The book is called "Labview for Everyone" and although I'm just a few chapters in it has helped me gain a better understanding so far, as I type this im reading a chapter on Arrays and Clusters and its steadily becoming more complicated but i'll try and stick with it.  Its also good to see that someone else may get some help from this thread , hope some of this helps Rohini.

Regards,

Dave

hiiiiiiii tbob...

wat a great attachment it was.....you really deserve 10kudos for it.. 🙂

well as a beginner my aim is to simulate a very simple process....jst to open the valve and to transfer the water from one tank, say A to another tank say B...i have designed the pipe with a horizontal slide bar....not considering the slide now, i just want to decrease the level of water in A as well as increase the level of water in B in small steps...but instead of using iteration i am not able to show this increment nd decrement levels....i am attaching the vi file...please do correct it....

rohini,

Did you actually look at some of the examples?

Your VI makes no sense.

Why is there a case structure around everything??? It has no purpose. (Don't use continuous run mode!)

What's up with all these local variables?

Maybe have a look at my example from a while back to do it more like a state machine.

hello altenbach

i added the case structure just to ensure that when the boolean is 1, the case is true.......otherwise it is not! i have already said that it is not complete but i am trying to develop it....
