Hi trije,
The behavior you're seeing is a result of trying to run DAQmx on a 64-bit installation of Windows XP. XP x64 is an OS that really did not get much development from NI and only supports a few drivers as shown in this KB:What National Instruments Products are Compatible with the 64-bit Windows XP x64 Operating System?. If possible, upgrade to Windows 7 (either 32-bit or 64-bit) to avoid this error.

This is probably a long shot but is there any way there is a file I could run in compatibility mode to make it work?

Unfortunately there is not such a file, I did find this document that shows a more extensive list of supported OSs for use with the 6009: What Operating Systems Does the USB-6008/9 Support?

I have the exact same problem!!! But nothing works... My computer has Win 7 x64, DAQmx 9.4.0 I've tried to reset MAX database, and everything... I opened a thread, but I still don't have any good answer... 😞

Hi Tim,
I have just installed MAX version 9.2.2 for my NI USB-6009. However it hasn't been discovered by MAX while its Windows driver appears OK, working.
In your reply below, you advised for checking "NI Device Loader" service in windows OS. I did and found that it was not running. I tried to start it but windows returned an error saying " Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start".
My system is
- WinXP, 32 bit SP3
- NI LabVIEW 7.1 Student Edition
- MAX ver. 9.2.2
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks

Hi Suleyman,
I found a document that describes the behavior you're seeing: Dependency Service Error 1068 When Starting Windows NT/2000/XP. It suggests that you need to disable your network card and re-enable it. If that doesn't work, you may consider upgrading to DAQmx 9.4.

I had a similar issue using USB-6009. I plugged my DAQ in the PC and NI MAX the device name didn't show as USB-6009 "dev1" but instead it showed a strange name. My PC has Windows 10 and NI DAQmx driver 20.1. I tried activating the NI device loader service as you mentioned and that solved the problem. Thank you!

Hi,
I have the same issue, I use the USB-6009 with Windows11.
1. The "NI device loader" is running.
2. The Device manager recognize the USB-6009 when I plug the USB as "Data Acquisition devices" - "USB Firmware loader". the driver version is 19.0.0.49152
3. The MAX-NI version is 2023Q2.
4. The USB-6009 is new. I just started working with it for the first time.
But the NI-MAX can't recognize the module.
The green LED of the module is OFF. I tried using different USB cable or connection.
Is there something to do to fix it?
Thanks,
Barak.

You don't specifically say that you have installed DAQmx with your install. Have you?

Or I guess you have NI-DAQmx 19.0?
The first supported version of DAQmx in Windows 11 is 2022 Q3. NI Product Compatibility for Microsoft Windows 11
