Unexpected application error

Hi everyone,

I have a weird error sometimes and I don't know why and what is this error.
Sometimes my VI works well (with no problem) and sometimes I have this error (see the bitmap in attachment)

Anyone have an idea why this error appears and how to solve it?

Thank you very much
Stephanie

P.S. By the way, I'm using the DSC module and the error is not there if I delete everything about the module.

Hi again,

But the solution doesn't really help me... well I don't understand what I'm suppose to do.
I know my code is working!

I even didn't know I had .dll thing in my code.... maybe it's the DSC module that create these DLL?

Nobody has an idea how to fix it?

Thanx
Stephanie

Here's my VI, it's almost the same thing as the other post, except I add more alarms and I've create 2 subVI.

Thanx again for helping me

If it's a DLL file corruption, do you think I need to uninstall and reinstall LabVIEW?

Because I don't see any other way to replace the corruption if I don't even know which file is it.

Do you see any error in my code?

Regards,

Stéphanie

Hi again,

I've try to find the error, so I did a step by step debug...

The error appears in my "Alarm Display.vi" inside the "Alarm & Event Query.vi". So it means that it's not really my fault. It's a LabVIEW VI so I don't know how I am suppose to debug that. I can't even enter in the block diagram because there's a password. I've try to delete it and put another one (I know, it's stupid, but I don't know how to solve this problem) and the error is still there.

What am I suppose to do? My alarms event works well, I can see it in MAX. The problem appears when I want to read them.

I'm stock, please help me someone Smiley Sad

Greetings Stephanie,

I think it must be a file corruption.  I don't see anything in your VI that should cause a problem and the whole thing runs correctly for me.  I would try running a repair on your DSC installation first and, if that doesn't help, try uninstalling and re-installing DSC.  I don't think you should need to do anything to LabVIEW itself.

Please let me know if this solves the issue.

Robert

Hi Robert,

Thanx again for your help.

For the moment it's working. Yesturday my VI worked 50% of the time, so that's why I said "for the moment". It worked 2 times since I reinstall LabVIEW and DSC module.

So you wanted to know what I did: I've Repair DSC module.. didn't work. I've Repair DSC module RTS... didn't work. I've Repair LabVIEW... didn't work. And then I was mad so I've uninstall LabVIEW, DSC module and DSC RTS and now it's working.

I hope it's going to stay this way.

I have a question, maybe I did something wrong yesturday when I build an executable. Is there anything different from a normal executable? I mean, I have to put the library in the support files and I have check the "Enable Enhanced DSC Run-Time Support" in the proprieties but is there something else I need to know?

Thanx

Stephanie

Honestly, I don't know nearly as much about built apps as I should.  I've passed this on to someone else who is much more knowledgable to answer.

When I closed LabVIEW, I had the same error!
So I ran my VI again to see if the error was still there, and YES!
grrrrr I'm desperate! Are you sure my code is OK?

I ran my VIs few time before and it works well and now I have the error!? I don't understand why it works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't work.......

I can't reinstall LabVIEW each time it does that, that stupid... is there any way to know which file is corrupt??

thanx......
Stephanie
