Unique 3d rotation using the activeX 3d graph

Thanks altenbach ... that's very neat and tidy.

My actual implementation of this is a little neater than the file I submitted but it was the one I used to learn what the heck was goin on.  I thought it might be a little easier for people new to the ideas to follow what was goin on in my original version of it.

I never thought to use the event structure though ... that makes sense.  I'm glad that people are enjoying this code ... it definately took me a long time to figure out what was needed to be done.  Thanks again altenbach.

Hi Greycat,

Could you save this as a 7.0 format so I could take a look?? Thanks

OK unclebump ... here it is ... I got a warning about "cannot save 3D Curve.vi to 7.0 format" ... or something like that.  So I don't know if it will work ... but the math should still be there ... here is my version

Greycat,

Just an added note: LabVIEW 8.0 will have a full set of 2D and 3D transformation tools. For example, you can easily do 3D rotations defined by a rotation matrix or by Euler angles.

Coordinate Transforms

  • Coordinate Shift
  • Coordinate Rotate
  • 3D Coordinate Conversion (Cartesian / Spherical / Cylindrical)

Things WILL get easier for all us! :D:D:D

I opened both version in LabVIEW 7.0 and they run fine. No errors. 🙂

That's great ... the only problem is I probably won't get to play with the full version of it though ... the company I work for just purchased their copy of 7.1  ... don't know if they will be up for coughin up the extra dough so soon ... but we'll seeSmiley Wink   Any idea as to when 8 will be available for purchase?
